Atlanta

Michael and I took Charlie and Sloane to Atlanta to meet up with our good friend E. and her children. I love the photo of Charlie and Sloane getting room service! Charlie now says in her squeaky voice, "I LOOOVE room service!" When we called our babysitter at about 10:45 PM to tell her we were close to being back to the room she told us that none of the 4 kids were yet asleep. Here's a pic of Sloane shortly after that - she had to have been exhausted but she loved to trying to keep up with the big kids!

While MC played in the snow, Charlie got some serious time playing in the leaves with our wonderful neighbor Charlotte (aka Nicole). We love that Ed documents everything that goes on in the neighborhood!

Grandparent-Free Zone

The ski school tries to keep parents and grandparents at a distance but mom and dad were able to get this shot of MC in action.

Our Little Skier

It sounds like Mary Claire had a good first day on the slopes. Her instructor told her she was the best student in the class and she's already bumped up to the next level. He also said she's a "natural." We're very proud of her!

Merry Christmas

I'm so proud of MC - I know she'll have a great time in Colorado but I think she is very brave to travel Christmas morning!

Christmas Eve

The girls all loved their new UT cheerleading uniforms. Charlie and Sloane even slept in theirs! We've had a great time having Moo and JayBoy here.

Gumdrop Tree!

Caroline made the girls this AMAZING gumdrop tree. They loved coming home and finding it on the front porch and then decorating it. MC also had her holiday program in her classroom -- her class sang all these great songs and were all dressed as Rudolph. Very cute!

Celebrating Christmas Early

We celebrated Christmas a little early before mom drove out to Colorado.

Snow!

Charlie was obsessed with the snow in NY...hopefully we'll get some in Charlotte this year so she can make some snow angels. She loved "working" with Auntie E at the airport waitiing for our flights. She's such a good-natured girl. You'd never know from these pictures that she had thrown up all over herself in the car on the wayto the airport.

Busted

Not sure what it says about our family that the first time I've been warned to keep it down in a hotel room, I was with my sister, parents and aunt and uncle. Not to mention the sleeping 3-year-old in the next room over....

After the visitation at the funeral home, we all went back to Poppy and Gigi's house. I think before the night was over, Charlie touched every dessert on this table.

Poppy

Poppy will be greatly missed. I hope our girls have inherited his smarts, love of a good party and wonderful sense of humor.
